Story #10
Air Date: September 4, 2013

Heather Seymour and her family started Little Elves for Little Angels after her kids came up with the idea to do a lemonade stand and donate the money to a good cause. They now hold yard and bake sales and use the money they earn to buy school supplies and Christmas toys for thousands of kids in need.

Heather knows what it’s like to not know if you can afford Christmas for your kids.

“I’ve stood in the lines for Toys for Tots and at the food pantry,” she explained, “We still struggle. We live paycheck to paycheck too.”

Heather and her husband have five children, two with special needs. Her husband works long hours, seven days a week, doing medical transport and driving a taxi cab to keep the household afloat.

When we surprised Heather with $50,000 she started crying. “I need a reliable car to make this charity happen, I just got my car out of the shop for $1,300 and it’s still not all the way fixed.”

Heather spends up to 18 hours a day working on Little Elves for Little Angels.
