26 Feb Patsy Skinner

Story #32
Air Date: February 26, 2014

Every Tuesday, Patsy Skinner, her husband, and several volunteers gather in her double-wide trailer to make hot meals for 200 people in her Augusta, GA neighborhood. She started this outreach five years ago because local residents couldn’t get to the nearest soup kitchen, located more than six miles away. In addition to her tireless efforts feeding the hungry, Patsy also uses her garage to store clothing for people in need.

Patsy receives a few private donations, but uses her personal savings to fund the outreach. With the $50,000 given to her by 5-hour ENERGY, she plans to replace two run down freezers, and continue to purchase the supplies needed to serve those in need for as long as possible.

If you would like to donate, please drop off any items at Eddie’s Auto Shop: 2311 Old Savannah Rd. Augusta, GA, 30906.
