16 May 5-hour ENERGY® Introduces Limited Edition Cherry Flavor Benefiting Special Operations Warrior Foundation
In 1999, Congress declared the month of May to be National Military Appreciation Month so that the nation could publicly demonstrate their appreciation to our service members. We’re proud to support our service members throughout the year with programs like Operation Gratitude and Veteran Tickets Foundation, but this year we’re taking our efforts to the next level.
Earlier this month we introduced our new limited edition flavor, 5-hour ENERGY® Cherry. From May 1 through July 31, 2014, the makers of 5-hour ENERGY® shots will donate five cents from the sale of every specially marked red, white and blue bottle of Cherry flavored 5-hour ENERGY® to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF). SOWF is a top-rated nonprofit organization that supports the military’s special operations forces and their families though college scholarships, family services and financial stipends.
In addition to a minimum guaranteed donation of $75,000, we’re showing our SOWF support in other ways! We were proud to sponsor the inaugural night race at Kansas on May 10, the 5-hour ENERGY® 400 benefiting Special Operations Warrior Foundation!
Some of the 5-hour ENERGY® athletes are also showing their support for SOWF. Clint Bowyer’s #15 Toyota Camry was decked out in a Cherry/SOWF paint scheme for the 5-hour ENERGY® 400, and will have the special scheme for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway and the FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks at Dover International Speedway. In addition, Jim Furyk will be wearing a Cherry/SOWF hat in an upcoming tournament, The Memorial.
We’re honored to support our special ops heroes and their families. To learn more about SOWF, watch some of the families of our fallen heroes talk about what the organization means to them or visit the SOWF website.
