03 Oct Clint Bowyer’s #15 5-hour ENERGY® Toyota Goes Pink and White for Three NASCAR Races to Support Living Beyond Breast Cancer
FARMINGTON HILLS, MI – October 3, 2014 – Living Essentials, LLC (the distributor of 5-hour ENERGY® shots) announced a pink and white paint scheme for Clint Bowyer’s #15 5-hour ENERGY® Toyota to support the company’s program with Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC). From now through the end of the year, five cents from the sale of every bottle of a limited edition, specially marked pink lemonade flavor of 5-hour ENERGY® will go to LBBC, a national nonprofit, whose mission is to provide trusted information and a community of support to individuals affected by breast cancer, their families, caregivers and medical professionals. The pink car, which will also feature the names of breast cancer survivors, will make its debut at the Kansas Speedway on October 5th. It will also race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on October 11th and Talladega Superspeedway on October 19th.
The minimum guaranteed donation is $200,000.
“5-hour ENERGY®’s breast cancer awareness program with LBBC provides funds for a fantastic organization, and I’m thrilled to help support the cause,” said Bowyer, who will be wearing a pink and white fire suit for all three races. “Now go buy Pink Lemonade so we can give even more money this year!”
In addition to the pink and white paint scheme, the #15 5-hour ENERGY® Toyota will feature the name of a breast cancer survivor on the passenger side door for each of the three races, and the crew will wear pink shirts on qualifying days with the names of someone close to them who has been diagnosed with the disease.
In 2013, Living Essentials’ contribution of $344,269.20 and the exposure provided as part of a national advertising campaign significantly impacted LBBC’s ability to expand the scope of their services and provide thousands of individuals with free educational resources and support services. Calls to LBBC’s toll-free Helpline doubled from the previous year, and more than 41,000 Guides to Understanding Breast Cancer, publications that describe and provide insight on topics such as diagnosis, treatment, recovery or disease management, were distributed at no charge. In addition, over 200,000 people visited lbbc.org for information and to connect with others sharing their experiences.
This year, LBBC will continue to expand its webinar program, introduce community meetings to new cities in the United States and host specialized national conferences. In addition, Breast Cancer: InFocus, a new series of specialized guides addressing the unique needs of special populations including men, the LGBT community and minorities managing chronic conditions in addition to breast cancer will be introduced.
“The makers of 5-hour ENERGY® and the NASCAR program introduced LBBC to millions of people and we are thrilled to again be working with an organization that believes so strongly in our vision of a world where no one impacted by breast cancer feels uninformed or alone,” said Kevin Gianotto, LBBC’s associate director of marketing and corporate partnerships. “The joy of working with the 5-hour ENERGY® team is their commitment to LBBC’s work to help those in need.”
