How do you work with a driver to get the chemistry and trust level where it is needed so the two of you are on the same page?
“Just becoming friends and having similar interest helps a lot. We have known each other for quite some time and we both respect each other’s values and accomplishments. We see racing in the same way and are eager to perform at highest level as one team.”
If you could make one change to the car that’s currently not allowed, what would it be?
“I would allow tire pressure sensors. Tires and their data are very important to success. It’s our connection to the track, so it’s important to have more data.”
Who is your motorsports hero?
“My hero would be Buzzie Reutimann. He won a ton of races, and did it the right way. He is one of the smartest racing people I have ever been around and knows so much about so many areas of the car.”
What is your earliest racing memory?
“My earliest racing memory was when starting to work on David Reutimann’s dirt car. I couldn’t read a wrench, so I started as a floor sweeper. Going to my first race with him, we won and I thought at that time….this is what I want to do the rest of my life.”
