Darlington Race Report
Clint Bowyer Race Summary: No. 15 Toyota Camry driver Clint Bowyer finished 11th in Saturday night’s 500-mile race at Darlington Raceway. The Michael Waltrip Racing driver started 13th and raced his way into the top-10 by lap 20. He raced there for most of the night until lap 239, when Bowyer pitted for tires and fuel. NASCAR imposed a stop-and-go penalty after the No. 15 carried its gas can out of the pit box. The penalty dropped Bowyer a lap down to the leaders. However, a lap 300 caution and another right after the restart enabled Bowyer to return to the lead lap in 12th. The final 50-lap shootout saw Bowyer gain a spot and finish 11th. Bowyer and his MWR team return to action Saturday night for the Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
- Started 13th and finished 11th.

- Received a stop and go penalty for leaving his pit box with equipment on lap 240 to fall a lap down
- Returned to the lead lap at the lap 312 caution.
- Gained a spot in the final laps.
BOWYER: “Overall it wasn’t our best night and it wasn’t our worst. We made some mistakes that set us back but we battled back and got a pretty decent finish. That was a tough race tonight at a pretty unforgiving track. I’m ready for Charlotte.”
