Poconos Race Report
Clint Bowyer Race Summary: No. 15 RK Motors Toyota driver Clint Bowyer finished 15th in Sunday’s 400-mile NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Pocono Raceway. Bowyer started third and ran at the front in the race’s opening stages. However, he reported a loose handling condition that dropped the Michael Waltrip Racing entry back in the field. The race ran caution free for the first 65 laps and the second caution didn’t come until lap 126 of the 160-lap race. The team worked to correct the handling throughout the race. Bowyer remains third in the standings as the team returns to action this weekend with the No. 15 5-hour ENERGY Toyota at Michigan Speedway.
- Started third and finished 15th
- Raced at front of the field.
- Complained of “loose” car for most of race.
- Only two cautions in the first 126 laps of the 160-lap race.
BOWYER: “We struggled with the RK Motors Toyota all weekend. I wish we could have got on the racetrack on Friday so we could have learned a little more. The rain didn’t help in that respect. We had a car that went from tight to loose all afternoon and it just never came around to where we needed it. I’m proud of my guys for sticking with it all day. We scored a top-15 and with as much as we fought it today, I’ll take that and move on to next week.”
