14 Jan 5-hour ENERGY® Continues to Support Gleaners to Help Fight Hunger
According to Feeding America, in 2014 around 15 percent, or 46.7 million, Americans were in poverty. In addition, 48.1 million Americans including over 15 million children live in food-insecure households. With these troubling statistics, it is crucial that there are resources available to help the less fortunate.
In 2015, Living Essentials, the maker of 5-hour ENERGY®, was proud to help thousands of families in need by supporting the Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan once again. As a member of Feeding America, Gleaners works to distribute nutritional, high-quality food to disadvantaged families in the community with an emphasis on education and advocacy to end emergency food system reliance.
Living Essentials and 5-hour ENERGY® hope that through donations collected during our drive over the holidays, less fortunate communities can receive the nourishment they need and deserve. In 2015, we set our fundraising goals high and were able to raise $10,929.98 dollars and 828 pounds of food equaling nearly 66,267 meals! A great way to complete our 7th consecutive year of support, we’re looking forward to raising even more next year.
While the holiday season might be over, staying in the giving spirit can help tremendously. How are you helping your community? 5-hour ENERGY® encourages you to find ways to donate your time and money to help others in whatever ways you can. Learn more about how 5-hour ENERGY® helps.
